A Discussion Regarding Practitioners Who Tend to Show Off

Fully understanding the Dafa principles is a basic requirement for Dafa practitioners to reach consummation. The purpose of reciting the book, Zhuan Falun, is to align oneself with the Dafa principles so that one can do the three things (study the Fa [the teachings of Falun Dafa], send forth righteous thoughts and clarify the truth about Falun Dafa and about the persecution to the world's people) better. Due to a lack of understanding of the Dafa principles, we have experienced significant losses and painful lessons while being persecuted by Chinese Communist Party agents. These lessons indicate the need for a fuller understanding of the Dafa principles.

Most practitioners take learning the principles seriously. Those who are able to assimilate with the Dafa principles on a daily basis have experienced many miracles. Some are even able to recite the book without making any errors, however a few of the people who can recite the book also tend to show off this ability. They tell others about their experiences in recitation with a hidden desire to validate themselves and to show that they are doing well, or are better than others. As a result they have not experienced any miracles.

For this reason I would like to remind those with a tendency to show off to be careful. The time for cultivation is limited. Showing off is a human notion that should be removed. Regardless of how well we do or how great our abilities, we should realize that it is the Dafa principles that provide us with wisdom and abilities. By ourselves, we have nothing to brag about.

The Minghui/Clearwisdom websites published an article entitled, "Continue to Walk Well the 'Great Way Without Form'" (http://www.clearwisdom.net/html/articles/2010/5/2/116606.html) which came from Minghui editors. After reading the article, a few practitioners went to extremes. Some wanted to hide their fear of persecution and chose to avoid contact with people. Others, who were stubbornly organizing large-scale conferences across several provinces without regard to safety issues, argued that the article came from Minghui editors and was not written by Teacher. In reality, to assimilate the Dafa principles one must be concerned about the safety of others, focus on the entire group while doing the three things well, and not isolate oneself from fellow practitioners.

There are practitioners who are proud of their oral or written communication skills. They like to show off by comparing themselves to a god, or claiming that they are shouldering pressures for those who dare not appear in public. They also claim that they have been enlightened to higher-level truths. While it is true that Dafa practitioners are magnificent, self-proclaimed greatness is not in accordance with the Dafa principles.

I would like to suggest to those who want to validate themselves that it is important to cultivate well, consider yourself as one of the practitioners and not someone above them, don't believe that you have been enlightened to higher levels, and never use Teacher's words as your own. Making great claims shows a lack of modesty and rationality, and can be a major block along the path of cultivation.

I hope we can all assimilate with the Dafa principles and fulfill our historical mission, the reason for which we came to this earthly plane.
