On January 29th, 2011, an event sponsored by the Bankstown municipal government was held to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Bankstown is located to the west of Sydney. Falun Gong practitioners participated in this celebration.

| Sydney Divine Land Marching Band performs in Bankstown celebration of Chinese New Year |
Twenty groups participated in this celebration and the traditional music and dance of various ethnicities was showcased. Nearly 10,000 people watched the performances. The Divine Land Marching Band, consisting of Falun Gong practitioners, performed in the event. The members of the band wore eye-catching blue and white traditional costumes and played seven songs. Audience members listened attentively and gave warm applause at the end of the performance.
