The Truth-Compassion-Forbearance Art Exhibition was held in the Weber State University in Ogden, Utah over the course of one month. Many students and faculty members came to see the exhibition.
The paintings in the exhibition present traditional Chinese culture through realistic painting skills and the meanings behind the stories. At the same time, some paintings depict the true stories happen to Falun Gong practitioners in China.
Lin Zhu from the Utah Falun Dafa Association said that they did not expect the exhibition to draw as much attention as it did. “We realised many people are eager to know the truth of Falun Dafa. We should have done so earlier,” said Lin.
According to Lin, many people expressed the intention of wanting to learn Falun Dafa.
The exhibition was held successfully thanks to the local practitioners who volunteered to help out. Lin said that most of them have jobs and live quite far away. They often came in the snow to act as guides to the exhibit.
Claire is a Falun Dafa practitioner who has a two-year-old son. She said that one day she met an exchange Chinese student from Shanghai. The student listened to Claire talk about Falun Dafa and asked a lot of questions. She was curious about the pretty bookmarks and paper lotus flowers but was hesitated to take them because of the ongoing crackdown on Falun Gong in China. Claire told her not to worry, but the student said, “The Chinese regime controls its people even worse overseas. I am a student and it tries to control me here at school in the USA.”
A woman came in with her daughter. She couldn’t stop crying as she watched the paintings. She said that she did not know why the paintings had such great moving power. She asked for a Falun Dafa exercise tape before she left.
A student stayed around for almost an hour. He said he felt very strong energy and wanting to stick around.
Another student, after watching the paintings, expressed that he would like to go to China to stop the persecution of Falun Gong if he had a chance.
A middle-aged man came to the exhibition several times. He said that such kind of persecution should not exist on earth and asked how he could help Falun Gong practitioners. He created a website with information on the current situation of the persecution so that more people can understand how practitioners in China are being tortured.
After seeing the paintings, a student said that he would write a thesis to introduce Falun Dafa and the Chinese Communist Party’s brutal suppression of it.
Many visitors left their thoughts in the guest book. The exhibit overall was a great success and helped many to learn about Falun Gong and the situation in China.
