On Sunday March 27th, 2011, a grand parade and rally were held in Chinatown in Brooklyn to support the 92 million Chinese people who have quit Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organisations. The event was also to raise awareness and call on more Chinese people to withdraw from the CCP.
Mr. James Tedisco, Member of the New York State Assembly, sent a letter of greeting to the organiser of the rally, the Global Service Center to Quit the CCP and Its Affiliated Organizations. He stated that everyone on this Earth should have freedom and that the efforts of the Service Center should be commended.
People are impressed by the parade, and many announce they withdrawals from the CCP
The long parade, led by the Divine Land Marching Band, was spectacular. The band members played stirring music as they marched. The banner team and posters were next, followed by lion dancers. A waist drum team, playing “Falun Dafa Is Great,” brought the procession to an end.

Volunteers from the Global Service Center to Quit the CCP and Its Affiliated Organizations helped spectators who wished to quit the CCP. Some of the bystanders talked with the volunteers to get more information. Some wrote down their names to withdraw from CCP. One volunteer helped more than 60 people and another one helped 43 people to quit the CCP and its affiliated organisations. After the parade, more than 200 spectators announced they were quitting.
Mr. Liu came to Brooklyn to shop, saw the parade, and stopped to watch for quite a while. He said, “The CCP’s policy is to abuse people. I cannot believe that such a regime still exists. If it were in another country, it would have disintegrated already. I came to the US in the 1970s. I know what it's like in China. Many people have no way to file their complaints. Except for money, how else can the CCP compare with Western civilisation and democracy?”
He stressed that future change in China must be due to Falun Gong, that Chinese people must stand up for what's right if they want to do something meaningful.
Mr. William Li is a second generation Chinese who grew up in the US. He is studying Eastern culture and investigating the impact of history and politics and relations with neighboring countries. He said after watching the parade, “I saw some statements about withdrawing from the CCP and its affiliated organisations. I understand the impact of Communist Party on Chinese people and even people in other countries. This parade is important.” He added with delight, “The performance of the waist drum team reminds me of the Chinese culture I learned when I was young. People of any age can join and play. It reminds me of Chinese New Year.”
Mr. Chen, a spectator, said he quit on March 26, “I live in the US. It is meaningless to keep my membership in the CCP Young Pioneers.” His friend, Mr. Zheng, commented that the parade was splendid. Mr. Li just came to the US a few months ago and got his certificate that he had quit the CCP. He said, “There is freedom in American, a big difference from China. Just standing on the street makes me feel different. I feel happy.”
The parade procession passed through Chinatown. A rally was held at a busy intersection. Spokesperson Zhiyuan Wang of The World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG) said, “After the CCP took power, it damaged Chinese culture. It is persecution of all Chinese people, not only Falun Gong practitioners. The persecution of Falun Gong practitioners is extremely brutal. The withdrawals from the CCP and its affiliated organisations by 92 million Chinese people indicates that Chinese people have understood the true nature of the CCP.”

At the rally, Mr. Wang replayed a telephone interview with a Chinese police officer who witnessed organs being harvested from a living Falun Gong practitioner. The interview demonstrated the CCP’s autocracy. It also indicated that even the police are aware of how despicable the CCP really is. Mr. Wang commented that the the end of the Party is near.
The release of the interview shocked many people present. Poet Huang Xiang was indignant at the CCP’s brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. He said that wide use of the Internet would assist the break down of the CCP’s autocratic system.
Dr. Li: It should come as no surprise when the CCP suddenly collapses
New York commentator Tianxiao Li spoke on “Why It Should Not Come As a Surprise When the CCP Suddenly Collapses.” He said, “As of today more than 92 million Chinese people have quit the CCP and its affiliated organisations. For so many to have renounced the CCP indicates that its control has no basis and that its disintegration will be an act carried out by the Chinese people to save China and themselves. It also indicates that sudden changes in China and a China without the CCP are coming.”
Dr. Li continued, “If the CCP collapses suddenly one day, it should not come as a surprise, because people are awakening already. This can bee seen in two areas. First, the CCP has lost credibility. It has damaged the basis of Chinese morality that was passed down over the past several thousand years. The CCP maintains its power with lies. People are choosing to renounce the CCP by quitting it and its affiliated organisations. Another reason the CCP will collapse is because people can no longer tolerate the violence it uses to maintain control. The CCP has pushed everyone too far. The violence it uses to stay in control has caused many protests. People will renounce the CCP.”
Other speakers at the rally included democratic advocates Boqiao Tang, Jun Wang, Gang Liu, and Guohua Liu. They condemned the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and dissidents.
At the rally, Guofa Wu and other more than 30 Chinese people announced they were quitting the CCP and its affiliated organisations in public and accepted their certificates of withdrawal. Mr. Wu said, “I am fortunate to announce that I am quitting the CCP and its affiliated organisations in public at this rally. I feel happy from the bottom of my heart.” This prompted more than ten other Chinese people to quit.
