United States: Practitioners Introduce Falun Dafa at Massachusetts Institute of Technology

On April 8th, 2011, new students who have been admitted to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and their parents came to visit the campus. Practitioners of Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, set up a booth on Thursday and again on Saturday, during the activities involving more than a thousand students. They introduced Falun Gong and the MIT Falun Dafa Club, and also demonstrated the five exercises on stage. They told about practitioners in mainland China who have been enduring the persecution.

Newcomers are pleased to learn about the goodness of Falun Dafa

The Falun Gong booth attracted many visitors. Some students said that they had already heard about the persecution of Falun Gong in China, while others were shocked to learn about it for the first time. Many of them were pleased to learn about the goodness of Falun Dafa.

MIT Falun Dafa Club members demonstrated the exercises on stage during the Saturday afternoon event. They also briefed the audience about the persecution of Falun Gong in China. Students applauded them at the end of their presentation. A Chinese student in high school in Newton, Massachusetts, heard about Falun Gong and the persecution for the first time. He thought Falun Gong was good and worthy of applause.

With the weather turning warmer, more and more tourists travel to Boston. As a world famous university, MIT is one of the important tourist attractions in Boston. Falun Dafa club members demonstrate the exercises on the lawn on campus after school hours, attracting many visitors. Some tourists from China were shocked after they saw the banner reading “Massachusetts Institute of Technology Falun Dafa Club.” Many Chinese tourists took photos and some of them read aloud, “Falun Dafa Club.” The MIT Falun Dafa Club often organises group Fa study and group practice, as well as other truth clarification activities. The notices for these activities are posted in the hallway of the university. Many Chinese tourists stopped to read about the Falun Dafa Club's upcoming events.

In late April, MIT Falun Dafa Club members will participate in the university's International Students Festival. They will demonstrate the exercises on stage at the Shell Theatre, and once again spread the good message of Falun Dafa.
