April 24th, 2011, is the 100th anniversary of the founding of Tsinghua University and the 55th anniversary of its existence in Taiwan. The Tisnghua University Falun Dafa Club participated in the university celebration by hosting an exhibition, giving an exercise demonstration, and showing a movie.

Tsinghua University was established in 1911 in Beijing. Tsinghua University in Taiwan was set up in Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 1956. Tsinghua Falun Dafa Club was set up in 2003. Practitioners practice beside Success Lake at noon from Monday through Friday.
A large banner hung in front of the club’s booth said: “Falun Dafa, Truth-Compassion-Forbearance, has benefited more than 100 million people by improving health and elevating morality.” The club members told visitors about Falun Gong and told them to see a movie in a nearby activity center.
A few students from mainland China talked with the practitioners. One of them renounced the CCP and its affiliated organisations on the spot.
Practitioner Chen Feng-chi said after the event, “Falun Gong practitioners in mainland China suffer from the inhumane persecution. I am sad and worried. We must stand up and protest the persecution and let more people know the facts.”
In the afternoon, practitioners demonstrated the first four exercises beside the lake. Their yellow costumes, the lake, and the blue sky made for a beautiful scene.
In Beijing, there is another Tsinghua University. In 1999, there were nine practice sites on the campus and more than 400 practitioners. On July 20, 1999, the CCP initiated the persecution of Falun Gong in China. For the past 12 years, many stories of misery due to the persecution have occurred on this campus.
While practitioners at Tsinghua University in Taiwan are able to freely practice Falun Gong and participate in the university celebration, practitioners at Tsinghua University in Beijing are not. They would face the end of their education and/or other forms of persecution.
