Spain: Celebrating World Falun Dafa Day and Introducing Falun Dafa

To celebrate World Falun Dafa Day (May 13) this year, Falun Gong practitioners in Spain held various events to introduce Falun Gong and expose the persecution taking place in China.

In Madrid, Falun Gong practitioners held group practice in the well-known Retiro Park and introduced Falun Gong to visitors.

Practitioners in Madrid also held an event on Sol Plaza, one of the busiest downtown areas, where they introduced Falun Gong and collected signatures calling for an end to the persecution.

In Barcelona, May 13 was also the first day of the National Health Expo, the largest such expo in Spain. The event attracted many people, who came to learn about physical fitness.

At the Falun Dafa booth, practitioners displayed banners reading, “Truth-Compassion-Forbearance” and photos showing Falun Dafa across the world. Around the booth were baskets of flowers, creating a joyful atmosphere.

Many people stopped at the Falun Gong booth to learn more about the practice. People were happy to hear about Falun Gong and many wanted to immediately learn the exercises. During the Health Expo, two Falun Dafa workshops were held.

A professor who teaches philosophy at a university visited the Falun Gong booth on May 14 with his son. He came back again on May 16. He said to a practitioner that from the practitioners’ kindness, he sensed that Falun Gong is unique and felt that it could help people acquire the truth. He said that he was interested in reading the Falun Gong books.

When people learned about the persecution of Falun Gong in China, they were surprised and signed the petition calling for stopping the persecution. Some said they hoped that Chinese people could practise Falun Gong freely in China as they can in other countries.
