“What is Falun Gong?” “Where can I find an exercise site nearby?” People asked these questions at the Zillmere Multicultural Festival held in Brisbane on June 4th, 2011.

The Zillmere Multicultural Festival is one of the largest community events in Brisbane. It started ten years ago. More than ten thousand people come to the festival every day. This year 40 groups from 25 different cultural backgrounds participated in the event. Among them, Falun Gong is one of the most popular.
The festival was held in O' Callaghan Park. Practitioners demonstrated exercises, passed out truth-clarifying materials, and talked with tourists. Deborah, a local westerner, was attracted to the exercises. She told practitioners that her life was stressful and she has hypertension, so she wanted to learn the exercises. When she learned that there was an exercise site very close to her home, she was excited and said to practitioners, “I'll see you tomorrow at 5:30.”
Many people took photos of the exercise demonstration, and some learned the exercises. Steven, a local gentleman, said that he felt comfortable during the sitting meditation, and he planned to join the local exercise site.
Practitioners wrote the names of visitors in Chinese calligraphy. In the afternoon, they also performed a lion dance, waist drums, traditional Chinese dance, and an exercise demonstration.
