On November 10, 2000, both my mother-in-law and younger brother were arrested and detained in the police station for going to appeal for Falun Gong. The police sent people everywhere in order to find and arrest my husband, who also practiced Falun Gong. To avoid being caught by police he was forced to stay away from home. Only my two children and I were left at home. On November 11, police from the local police station came to my home and said that they wanted to speak with me. I took the children with me to the police station, as there was no one to look after them. Not until arriving there did I realize that I had been deceived. The head of the local police station asked me, Are you still practicing Falun Gong?" I truthfully answered, "How can I give up practicing such a wonderful exercise?" He then ordered, "Take her away!" Three people rushed up to me. At that moment, we were shocked, especially my two children, one of whom is 7 years old while the other is only 4. They were severely traumatized by what happened. The children grasped me tightly while shouting "mom" unceasingly. Their small faces turned pale, but those policemen showed no sympathy for them. They forcefully pulled their small hands away from me, then threw the children into a police car and took them away. The children's miserable crying could be heard coming from inside the police car. I could hear them calling, "Mom!" and I shed tears.
After being arrested, I firmly refused to cooperate. On the eighth day of my hunger strike, the police agreed to release me, fearing that they might otherwise be responsible for my death. Because I was not able to pay the so-called living expenses," I was detained for another 14 days. It was 6 p.m. on the day when I was finally released. They tried to force me to sign a "monitoring liability letter," but I firmly refused. I did not violate the law. Why should they monitor me? The policeman said unreasonably, "Even if you do not sign, we'll still monitor you 24 hours a day."
Not until arriving back home did I find out that the police had left my children there. They and my father (a non-practitioner) kept crying in the courtyard. There was nowhere for them to voice the injustice they felt! Many kind-hearted neighbours shed tears sadly when they saw this.
Jiang's regime of political scoundrels not only persecutes Falun Dafa practitioners, but also imposes suffering on little children. Among the five practitioners in my family, three have been illegally sentenced to imprisonment. One was sentenced to three and a half years in jail, two were sentenced to 3 years in jail, and the other two were forced to leave home and travel from place to place to avoid further persecution. I hope that all kind-hearted people will stop the criminal acts of Jiang's regime.
