I live on a mountain with an altitude of more than 1,200 metres. I started practising Falun Dafa in 1997. The area where I live is sparsely populated. Although I am the only person who practises Falun Gong in this area, I don't feel lonely, because I know that Master is looking after me. I have never seen Master, but I know that Master is always by my side. Falun Dafa has often manifested its divine power, so as to encourage me to be more steadfast on my path. Below, I will cite several incidents to share with you.
The “Magical” Pond
The place where I live is like a duplex. There are two households living there. My household consists of three people. Both households raise a lot of poultry including chickens, ducks and geese, as well as sheep and pigs. The mountain where we live is full of steep slopes, and the water supply is always a problem.
We decided to spend some money to create a small pond, and went to town to buy two bags of cement and a little dynamite. We blasted a pit with the dynamite and sealed it with the cement to make a small pond to hold rain water. Throughout the years, we (both households) depend on this pond for our water supply.
The pond is filled by rain water. When it is filled, we have water enough for about one month. Normally, the water supply is not a problem. However, when there is a drought, it is a big problem. We experienced a miracle with the pond in 2004. That year, we had the most severe drought in 100 years. It lasted three months, and the average temperature stayed at 105 degrees Fahrenheit or more every day. My neighbours told me, “If the temperature continues this way, our water supply will soon dry up. If this happens, then we have to go dozens of miles away to fetch water. It's going to be hard for us. What should we do?” I wasn't panicked at all. Master said that disasters happen in order to punish bad people. Good people will be exempt from disaster. I told my neighbours, “As long as you are a good person and maintain a good conscience, you will be exempted from the drought.”
My heart wasn't moved. I continued with Fa study and practising the exercises every day. In the end, nothing happened to the water supply. Even more surprisingly, no matter how we used the water in the pond, it remained at its original level. My neighbours were amazed by this incident.
The Ipomoea that Didn't Die Despite the Drought
During the drought, the temperature remained at 105 degrees or higher for more than 50 days. Even elderly people in the area said they had never experienced such a severe drought in their lives. The heat was so intense that even old pine trees died. Grasses were about to burn. The soil became like loose sand. It was impossible to grow any vegetables. We could see heat waves rolling up from the ground. The sky was like a fire ball. There was not even a sign of a cloud. It was like living in a steel furnace.
One day, I went to town to run some errands. I saw a farmer who was selling dry-water spinach (Ipomoea aquatica, which grows in the soil instead of water). I brought a few pounds home. My wife was very excited to see the vegetables, thinking that she would have a good meal. I told her that the spinach was to be used for planting. She looked at me as if in a daze, smiled and said, "What are you talking about? The ground is so hot that it can easily cook an egg. If you plant these vegetables in the ground, I guarantee you that in less than half a day, they will be roasted.” I didn't take what she said seriously. I knew what I was doing. I am a Dafa practitioner. I have Master's protection and the Fa; nothing can stop me. I knew that I could plant spinach in the ground despite the heat. So I saved one bundle for dinner, and planted the rest in the ground. I couldn't water the spinach using the water in the pond as it was used for the sustenance of 9 people. I believe in the miraculous power of Dafa. The next morning, I saw that the spinach hadn't dried out and died. Several days later, it started to grow buds. Later on, they grew branches. Despite the baking sun, the ipomoea were growing green, fresh and tender. The crop was more than enough to feed our household.
