He told me how he first came into contact with Falun Gong after someone had given him a flyer when he was out for a walk. He had reacted strongly to the suppression of Falun Gong practitioners in China, and dearly wanted to help bring an end to this vicious persecution.
It turned out that he was going home via Copenhagen, Denmark, and Stockholm, Sweden, after Iceland and that he had tried to get into contact with a practitioner from Sweden, but without success. Since I happen to be the neighbour of this Swedish practitioner it was easy to unite them with each other when I was back in Gothenburg again.
When he heard that there was a meeting with a translation group and that we also had a 9-day video course happening in Sweden, he became interested in visiting Gothenburg to participate and to share experiences with Swedish practitioners. It turned out that he had been consulted regarding the new translation of Zhuan Falun [the main book of Falun Dafa] in the United States, and he told us what they came up with over there. Later in the evening we saw lecture 6 and after that the professor talked about Zhuan Falun and Falun Gong from a scientific perspective. It was very interesting to hear a scientist talk about certain things in the book Zhuan Falun from his strictly scientific perspective, and everyone present appreciated it very much. As I understood it there will soon be some research of certain things, both in Harvard and M.I.T, that are mentioned in Zhuan Falun, and some of it has already confirmed by science.
The following day, we went on a short sightseeing tour to Ontindiefararen Götheborg, which is under construction and is shaped after a boat that sank in the harbour entrance of Gothenburg on its journey home from China in the 17th century. In this shipyard there happened to be another practitioner who works in construction, so we got a quick guided tour of all the points if interest before we finally drove the professor to the station.
After these intensive two days he look forward to getting on the train to Stockholm, where he could sit down and take it easy. But when he phoned me later in the evening, he told me that he happened to be sitting beside a researcher who works in the Karolinska Sjukhuset (a hospital in Stockholm) on new ways to cure cancer. She was very interested in Falun Gong when she heard about a research report that has been done on cells survival in practitioners and none practitioners, by Dr Lily Feng. So instead sinking into the chair to rest, he had a three-hour long stimulating conversation about science, research and Falun Gong.
Look at how much this little meeting in Iceland led to. What might happen next
