In London, many people passing by the Chinese Embassy asked for truth-clarifying materials. They also signed their names to support Falun Gong practitioners. Some of them even practised the sitting meditation alongside practitioners. A traffic warden congratulated the practitioners: "Well done! Your banners are beautiful." A woman passing by told the practitioners that she felt powerful energy when they were doing the Fa Zheng Nian meditation. The policeman on duty at the Embassy said we had won respect there because of our cooperation with them.
Due to the special relationship between the UK and Hong Kong, the staff from the UK Foreign Ministry were very much concerned about the unreasonable trial against Falun Gong practitioners in Hong Kong. Many workers there asked for Falun Gong materials. Once, a man walked out of the Foreign Ministry and began talking with Dafa practitioners. He said that he had served as a Hong Kong policeman for six years and that the police were completely independent and responsible only to the law in those days. The police would not interfere with whatever people did as long as they did not break any laws. He was worried about Hong Kong's situation, and empathized with the situation of the 16 Falun Gong practitioners. The policeman on duty at the Foreign Ministry came to the scene and said: "You've done a very good job. Your petition has attracted the public's attention."
On August 5, practitioners gathered at the Chinese Consulate in Manchester and held a press conference to call for people from all walks of life to be concerned about the trial in Hong Kong. A practitioner travelled for four hours to bring a hand-made banner condemning the Hong Kong Government's unreasonable prosecution and trial against Falun Gong practitioners.
