After they took my husband away, the police confiscated my family's property and detained me once again. When I told them that their behaviour was illegal, Superintendent Liu said, "There is no need to discuss legality with you." They also wanted to sentence me to three years in a labour camp.
While in the detention centre, I resisted the persecution. I refused to wear the uniform, and I went on hunger strike without water and food on and off for 41 days. On the sixth day of my hunger strike, the medical doctor in the prison stabbed the arches of my feet with needles. Instructor Tian and several criminals tried to force some kind of syrup down my throat. Some of them sat on my body, while some pried at my teeth with a toothbrush and then with a steel spoon. They chipped four of my front teeth, but they were still not able to administer the syrup. During my time in the detention centre, I was tortured severely and became emaciated. I was examined in the hospital and diagnosed with having intestinal adhesion, hypertension, and an abnormal electrocardiogram. They were afraid that I would die in the detention centre, so they called my relatives and told them to come and pick me up. When my relatives saw my appearance, they all cried. After I was released, policeman Wangbiao from the municipal Public Security Bureau forced my family to pay him 1000 Yuan [Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 Yuan] without a receipt.
I am appealing to all kind people, please help to stop this persecution.
