UK: Practitioners Hold Falun Dafa Demonstration and Art Performance Week in Edinburgh

During Edinburgh's International Arts Festival, UK practitioners held "Falun Dafa Demonstration and Art Performance Week" to allow more people to learn the goodness of Falun Dafa, beginning August 20. In the brilliant sunshine, Dafa practitioners stood out among the crowds of people in their traditional red and yellow Chinese costumes.

Our performance site was located on the corner of a busy street. People coming from all directions could see the brightly coloured Dafa booth surrounded with visitors. Practitioners displayed various wonderful performances to the audience. Besides exercise demonstrations, performances included young practitioners' chorus of Dafa songs, traditional Chinese fan dancing and costume display, flying deity's dance, flute solo music and other performances. Many visitors watched our performances in amazement, and they also carefully read our Dafa materials. Two boxes of Dafa flyers were distributed every day. After watching our performances and reading the flyers, many people signed their names on our petition to condemn Jiang's regime's brutal persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. There was often a long line of people waiting to sign. Someone could not help saying, "It's so inconceivable that what the Jiang Zemin regime suppresses is a group of good people like you." Many people took pictures of our performances; quite a few of them joyously surrounded Dafa practitioners and took pictures of them. These visitors learned about the principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" endowed by Falun Dafa and this made them very happy.

Many Chinese passing by also stopped and watched, and many of them took pictures and signed their names. Almost nobody refused Dafa materials handed out by the practitioners. Several groups of visitors from China learned the truth about the persecution and the goodness of Falun Dafa.

Dafa practitioners' calligraphy was especially appealing and attractive. Many people lined up to have their names written in Chinese on the beautifully-designed paper imprinted with Dafa websites and the words: " The World needs 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance'." While waiting, people were carefully reading Dafa truth-clarifying materials illustrated with pictures. The signature forms spread on the table were often soon full. On the signed forms in protest against Jiang Zemin's regime's brutal suppression and the Hong Kong government's wrongful verdict against Falun Dafa practitioners due to bowing to the pressure of the Chinese dictator, people left their acknowledgement of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and disdain for lies, evil and violence.

The practitioners also displayed the "Journey of Falun Dafa" photo exhibition. The goodness of Falun Dafa and the evil suppression formed a sharp contrast, clearly displayed before people's eyes.
