Sweden: Practitioners Reveal the Facts to High-ranking Officials and Leaders

During the election period of Sweden, the leaders of various political parties all came to Gothenburg. From August 10 to August 13, a few practitioners brought with us Dafa truth-clarifying materials to the various places where the leaders of different political parties were giving speeches. One after another, we gave these important leaders of Moderaterna (Conservative Party), the ruling party Socialdemokraterna (Social democratic) and Kristdemokraterna (Christian democratic), Dafa materials that reveal the facts about issues related to the Falun Gong incidents in Hong Kong and Iceland. We also brought up the issue that Falun Gong is still being persecuted in China and that citizens of western countries are also being threatened by the Chinese dictator.

Meeting with the Conservative Party Chairman

On August 10, some of our practitioners went to the city centre. We listened to Bo Lundgren, Chairman of the Conservative party, make a speech. In his speech, that lasted for one hour, he emphasized the importance of human rights. After his speech, two practitioners went up and thanked him for his speech and gave him Dafa truth-clarifying materials. They asked, “In the world, there is still a country such as China where the citizens there cannot enjoy the freedom of belief, especially Falun Gong practitioners who are still being cruelly persecuted in China. How do you intend to move one step further to help them?” He replied, “We will continue to have dialogues with the Chinese government and continue to bring up this issue to the Chinese government.”

Meeting with the Prime Minister of Sweden

On August 13, when Göran Persson, the Prime Minister of Sweden, made a 30 minutes speech and was about to leave, two Falun Dafa practitioners went and spoke to him. One of the practitioners asked, “Prime Minister Persson, Can I give you some materials to read?” He looked at us and replied, “Yes, you can.” The Dafa practitioner asked him as he handed the Dafa truth clarifying materials to him, “How is the Swedish government going to further help solve the human rights issue in China? There are many Falun Gong practitioners who are currently suffering cruel persecution in China. You know, every single day there are people who are persecuted to death. At that moment, Prime Minister Persson, in front of many reporters, very affirmatively replied, “We will continue to use different means to raise our objection to the Chinese government [about this human rights issue]. Thank you for these materials. I will definitely read through them when I go back.”

Meeting with Chairperson of a certain province of Christian Democratic Party

On that day, two practitioners came to the inquiry booth of the Christian Democratic Party. One lady received us warmly. When she understood about the truth about Falun Gong, she firmly expressed that Jiang Zemin’s dictatorship government suppressing Falun Gong is something that cannot be tolerated by any democratic party and democratic country. During the conversation, she gave us many good suggestions to better help us clarify the truth about Falun Gong to more leaders and understand their attitudes towards Falun Gong. Before leaving, we just found out that she is the new chairperson of the Christian Democratic party for this province.
