by a German practitioner
In the experience sharing of learning Dafa, we always hope that the practitioners can talk about their own viewpoints based on their understanding of the Fa [The principles of Falun Dafa, as explained in the books by Li Hongzhi]. For instance, one person is drowned in the water, and his life is in danger. There are several persons standing on the shore, discussing how they are going to save the drowned person, and how they should treat the event based on the principles of the Fa. In contrast, there is another person, who does not say or think of anything. He jumps into the water right away, and pulls the drowned person to the shore. Which of the above two actions better comply with the Fa?
Another issue has been pointed out in Master Lis article , When learning Dafa, intellectuals should be aware of a most prominent problem: They study Dafa in the same way that everyday people study theoretical writings, such as selecting relevant quotations from renowned people to examine their own conduct. This will hinder a cultivators progress. My understanding is It is uncertain that our actions or viewpoints can comply with the Fa if we are able to quote several sentences from the Fa to support our own actions or viewpoints. Only when our actions and viewpoints comply with the Fa as a whole, it is the true comprehension of the Fa. And when you have the true comprehension of the Fa, all the behaviours of a person comply with the Fa. Sometimes we find that we are trapped in the thinking model formed in the ordinary human life we start looking for supports in Fa to back up our behaviours. If these supports only comply with certain part of the Fa, not the other part of the Fa, then we do not hold the true comprehension of the Fa. No matter what I run into in the time being, I always examine myself with Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.
The above represents my personal understanding at this stage. If there is anything incorrect, please help to correct it.
