The Chinese Communist Party is currently holding the 16th Congress, but a few people in power are afraid of other people speaking out about the truth. In order to keep Falun Gong practitioners from speaking out, the authorities began another campaign of terror against Falun Gong practitioners. They circulated a rumour internally, saying that Sinosat once again received pro Falun Gong signals in September and many Falun Gong practitioners went to Tiananmen Square during the October 1 national holiday. They claimed, "Falun Gong practitioners were asked to go to Beijing to appeal," and "Falun Gong once again quietly restored its underground organization and activities." Using these rumours as a basis, these few people in power thus mobilized police and every level of the Party Committees across China to launch another wave of persecution.
After 1999, Jiang's regime internally implemented a "special protection period," ordering all levels of authorities to be held accountable for their local Falun Gong practitioners, not allowing a single person to go to Beijing or to provincial capitals to appeal; otherwise, they would discipline or punish the officials and work units. Followers of Jiang's regime in recent years have established a nationwide system of persecuting Falun Gong. From the Central Government to the local governments, they set up "610 Offices" that are above the law and arranged designated personnel and funding for the persecution. They have built many "training bases" (brainwashing centres) and forced labour camps to confine Falun Gong practitioners. Nationwide, they have created data banks of Falun Gong practitioners' personal files, which are put into a network and can be accessed nationwide. They especially singled out the "special monitoring targets," those who are firm Falun Gong practitioners. The local party committees, administration and law enforcement departments have used and are using brutal means to torture Falun Gong practitioners in order to reach the "zero target" goal. They have issued more severe orders and goals to work units and residential committees where the Falun Gong practitioners work and live. They have also used "implication policies," punishing Falun Gong practitioners' family members in order to weaken their will to continue to cultivate.
Prior to the October 1 national holiday, the local governments violated the Chinese Constitution by arresting steadfast Falun Gong practitioners from their homes and work units without any legal procedure. These good people were either detained or confined in local detention centres or brainwashing centres. These innocent Falun Gong practitioners have been deprived of their personal freedom and rights. They lost their jobs, their families have been torn apart, and they are being detained in jails to suffer physical and mental torture. If they continue hold on to their belief -- to cultivate Falun Dafa, they would face being sent to forced labour camps or long term imprisonment
History will render fair judgment of what has transpired. Anyone who goes against the true people's will, trying to maintain the dictatorship through violence and deceit, will receive their due punishment.
We appeal to the righteous people across China and all over the world to support Falun Gong and condemn this injustice.
