Some time ago a fellow practitioner gave me a lift and played an audiotape in his car. The content of this tape was a recording of Teacher Lis articles being read by a practitioner. I asked him where this audiotape came from and he told me it came from an American practitioner. I realised that this is not a good way to study the Fa. Being embarrassed I did not point this problem out to him immediately. In October 2002, Dafa practitioners from all over the world went to Houston, USA. On a bus another fellow practitioner in front of me was also listening to this audiotape. Afterwards, some practitioners told me that it is not clear exactly how many of these tapes there are, but quite a lot of practitioners own them. I think that we should destroy this kind of tape and read Teacher Lis original texts. All of Teachers new articles and Dafa books are available for overseas practitioners.
Of course, it is certainly good for Dafa practitioners to make use of all opportunities and time available to study the Fa [Principles of Falun Gong Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance] well and take the Fa as the teacher. But what I enlightened to is: Teachers original texts (Dafa books) and original Fa-lecture tapes are totally pure, can take effects at all levels from the most micro to the most macro level. Therefore it enables us to make progress after weve read through the books or listen to the tapes. However, our practitioners are the person in the process of cultivation practice. There are definitely some attachments and impure thoughts that are not completely eliminated. So the words or sentences spoken by a practitioner could carry the practitioners karma and also have limitations of the level that the practitioner reaches. It could not entirely play the role of Fa-study. That is why we should read Teachers original texts or listen to the original Fa-lecture tapes. There are some recordings of Teacher Lis new articles on Minghui website [A Chinese Falun Dafa website], but I think the main purpose for this could be to provide a convenience for those Dafa practitioners in Mainland China, who are suffering under persecuting, such as those practitioners who are imprisoned illegally in labour camps. It played an extremely good role for some practitioners in Mainland China to use loudspeakers to broadcast the recordings of Teachers new articles and some articles published on Minghui website to those practitioners inside labour camps.
Speaking of Fa-study, Dafa practitioners in Mainland China are under very difficult conditions. However they try their best to create the conditions to study the Fa from the original texts of Teacher Lis new articles. Many Dafa practitioners who are imprisoned illegally in labour camps or forced to be homeless, tried their best to get the original text of Teacher Lis new articles and recite it as soon as possible. This is not only that they are willing to be strict with themselves and treat Fa-study seriously, but also to satisfy the requirements of Dafa for our Fa-study. For those audiotapes of Teacher Lis Fa-lectures, which are used by western practitioners for Fa-study and accompanied with the translating voice, it must have Teacher Lis voice simultaneously, and Teacher Lis voice must be able to be heard clearly. I think all of our Dafa practitioners understand the reason of this: if it has only the voice of the translation instead of Teacher Lis voice simultaneously, it does not have the power of the Fa.
I think how to treat Fa-study is a serious issue. Dafa practitioners during the Fa-rectification period, especially overseas Dafa practitioners in a peaceful environment, must be strict with themselves and take the Fa as the teacher, this is the only way to enable us to keep up with the Fa-rectification.
I hope our overseas Dafa practitioners can study the Fa well. Here I would like to make a self-criticism for not taking the responsibility for safeguarding the Fa at that time.
