Practitioners of Falun Gong, which is banned in China, have gathered in front of the China Consulate to hold a protest against [the Chinese] Communist Party’s persecution on the spiritual practice.
Our reporters at the scene saw the following: Falun Gong practitioners practicing peaceful exercises and holding posters/slogans to call on people to offer their support for those who are being persecuted in China for their belief in Falun Gong.
The spokesperson of the Baltic Falun Dafa Association, Andre Abor Channial, said to reporters from the Baltic News Service, "Falun Gong practitioners have been sent to prisons and labour camp for practicing the peaceful Falun Gong exercises – there they have been tortured and even beaten to death."
The protest sheets distributed by those at the scene say; “We come here to the China Consulate to hold activities, at the same time as other practitioners worldwide, during the period when Jiang Zemin, the China Communist Head visits the United States.”
