Destitute and homeless, I travelled to a relative's home. My relatives were very clear about my situation. They dared to allow me to stay in their home because they know that Falun Gong is good. After my relative's neighbour learned about my situation, he said: "I can understand you and I also support you. If there is anything that is inconvenient for you to do, I will do it for you." He said: "It is cold now, I would like to give you this coat." Upon saying that, he took off his coat and gave it to me. I was deeply moved because his financial condition also appeared to be quite poor, and I had never met him before.
I was illegally detained and when my detention term was up, I didn't have any family members who could provide an introduction letter [necessary for release] for me at the local police station. The detention centre therefore detained me beyond my term. During my detention period, I continuously introduced Falun Gong and revealed the truth of the persecution to the prisoners, and obtained the acknowledgement and understanding from the head of the cell [who was also an inmate]. He supported me and told others not to beat Falun Gong practitioners. One of the prisoners was due to be released soon. Hearing the truth, he really understood me, and was worried about my extended detention. He said: "It is really great to meet you today! From now on, I have to change my behaviour. Your moral standards are very high. I will be released tomorrow. I will go to the local police station to get an introduction letter for you the day after tomorrow, and I will drive here to pick you up." He was a company manager and two days later he really came and managed to release me from the detention centre. When he went to the local police station to get an introduction letter, a policeman said to him, "You dare to get an introduction letter for a Falun Gong practitioner? If he does something again, we will also arrest you". Although this person had not known me before my detention, he still took the risk of being my warranter.
