Beginning at 8:00 a.m. on January 12, (Sunday) to January 14, 2003, in conjunction with the global appeal, Sydney Dafa practitioners held a series of activities in front of the Chinese Consulate for three consecutive days. They held a sit-in protest, sent forth righteous thoughts [using upright thoughts to purify oneself and the surroundings. This can be understood as a type of meditation], and held a press conference and candlelight vigil to condemn the Jiang regime's brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.
At 12:30 p.m. on January 14, the practitioners held a press conference in front of the Chinese Consulate, exposing the Jiang regime's latest crimes in its brutal persecution of Falun Gong. Since November 2002, 43 reports of Falun Gong practitioners being tortured to death in China have been received, 22 of the deaths reported actually occurring after November 1. The remaining cases reached overseas after breaking through China's information blockade.
The Falun Gong spokesperson in Sydney called on people from all walks of life and the media to pay attention to the lawsuit against Jiang filed by Falun Gong practitioners from different countries with the charge of Genocide at a District Court in the US, and called for an immediate end of the killing.
SBS Radio conducted an interview with the Falun Dafa spokesperson in Sydney.
