Savage Persecution Leads to Death of Practitioner and Her Unborn Child

According to news from Guangzhou City, on December 4, 2002, Ms. Luo Zhixiang, a former engineer from the design office at Guangdong Province Agricultural Construction Inc. sadly jumped from a building to escape the relentless persecution by the authorities from Tianhe District "610 Office" and the Xinghua Street Police Station. Tragically, she was three months pregnant when she died.

According to a December 30, 2002 report from Falun Dafa Information Centre, the news source claimed that the government illegally hounded Luo Zhixiang and her husband Huang Guohua for practising Falun Gong, and the couple was forced to become homeless for more than two years to avoid persecution. On November 20, 2002, Luo and her husband Huang, were kidnapped by police from the local "610 Office" in their rented room in Guangzhou City. They were sent to Haizhu District Detention Centre, where Luo Zhixiang held a hunger strike to protest the persecution. The thugs from Tianhe District "610 Office" and the Xinghua Street Police Station callously ignored the fact that Luo Zhixiang was three months pregnant and had been on a hunger strike for many days. They forcibly sent her to a brainwashing class and coerced her to write the "Three Statements" [in which the practitioner claims to give up Falun Gong practice and other promises], and tortured her physically and mentally. Later, Luo Zhixiang became severely dehydrated and extremely weak, and she was sent to a hospital. Her family asked to take her home on bail, but their request was rejected. On December 4, in an attempt to escape the unremitting persecution, Luo Zhixiang jumped from the building and tragically, died upon impact.

A source said that news of Ms Luo's death is being blocked by the government and her husband Huang Guohua is still being detained and is not allowed to see his wife’s body.

On the 29th, a reporter verified with the Xinghua Street Police Office in Tianhe District, that Luo Zhixiang was arrested and detained because she was a Falun Gong practitioner.

According to statistics, as of now, 558 deaths of Falun Gong practitioners have been verified, all of whom have died from persecution by Jiang's regime. At least 25 of them have died jumping off buildings in an attempt to escape police brutality.
