Because of the meeting with Vice Chairman Edward McMillan-Scott, one of the six members of the of the European Parliament (MEP), Mr. Cao Dong, a Falun Gong practitioner from Beijing, was secretly arrested and imprisoned in a detention centre in his hometown in the Gansu Province. On September 29th, 2006, the Chinese police issued an arrest warrant, claiming that Mr. Cao produced Falun Gong materials. It is quite evident that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its accomplices deliberately concealed the true reason for the arrest and the location where Mr. Cao is imprisoned for fear of international condemnation.
On May 21st, 2006, two Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Cao Dong and Mr. Niu Jinping met with MEP Edward McMillan-Scott in Beijing. During the meeting, they told Mr. McMillan-Scott of their personal experience as torture victims in forced labour camps. Mrs. Cao is also imprisoned and suffers torture in a forced labour camp. In addition, they revealed the CCP's heinous crime of harvesting hundreds of thousands of internal organs from live Falun Gong practitioners for profit. That same day, special agents from Beijing's State Security Bureau secretly arrested Mr. Cao Dong and subjected him to interrogation. He has been imprisoned since then. Mr. Cao's home is located in Apartment 704, Unit 3, Baozhuzi Lane, Zhaojia Building, Beijing. On May 26th, a group of special agents went on a more than two-hour ransack spree of his home. The other Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Niu Jinping, who took his little girl to the meeting, has been under strict monitoring and frequently suffers harassment and threats.
Mr. Gao Feng is a friend of Mr. Cao Dong and had not been involved in the meeting with the MEP. He occasionally stays overnight at Mr. Cao's home. When special agents ransacked Mr. Cao's home and found him there, they arrested and interrogated him for five days. Finally, they put handcuffs on him and took him on a train to his hometown in Gansu Province. He continues to be monitored by police. Mr. Gao Feng was left no other choice but to flee his home to avoid further persecution.
Details About the Search on May 26th
That day, five male and one female special agents from the State Security Bureau ransacked Mr. Cao Dong's home in Beijing. They used a master key to open the apartment door. During the search, they kept taking photos of the apartment. They confiscated Mr. Cao's collection of Falun Gong books, Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution, copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party 1, removable hard drives, blank DVDs, photographs, camera film, as well cash, Mr. Cao's ID and receipts. They have even confiscated Mr. Cao's wedding photos and marriage certificate. During the search, arrest and interrogation, they made a very conscious efforts to conceal their identities. They did not call each other by their full name or job title. When asked about their last names, they avoided the question and quickly changed the topic.
Upon hearing of the situation of Mr. Cao Dong and Mr. Niu Jinping, overseas Falun Gong practitioners and people who want justice have been working to rescue them. MEP Edward McMillan-Scott immediately asked to see the Chinese Communist regime's ambassador to the EU for an urgent meeting. Later he repeatedly communicated with the Chinese Communist regime, urging them to release them and guarantee their personal safety. He has also repeatedly urged the international society to pay immediate attention to this issue.
Mr. Cao married his wife Yang Xiaojing more than four years ago. They both suffered from actions by the CCP's accomplices, including detainment, imprisonment in forced labour camps and prison terms at different times. Consequently, they had lived together as husband and wife for only a few weeks. On the evening of November 20th, 2000, the ninth day after they were married, Mr. Cao Dong was arrested and transferred between several detention centres in Beijing. One of them was the No. 7 Detention Centre that imprisons only death-row prisoners and felons. In March 2001, an illegal trial was held at Beijing court where he was sentenced to a four year and six months prison term. Mr. Cao was transferred to a prison in his hometown in Gansu Province where he was subjected to all kinds of cruel torture methods.
Additional news: We have received the latest news about Mrs. Cao. She has been released from Beijing Women's Forced Labour Camp, thus ending her imprisonment of two and a half years.
