The prison's political head, Liu Changjiang, publicly instructed the prison guards to employ prisoners to beat and torture Dafa practitioners. The Dafa practitioners were under scrutiny 24 hours a day, and were not even allowed to talk to each other. They forced practitioners to write "the four letters." [Created by the "610 Office." Dafa practitioners are coerced under brainwashing and torture to write these as proof that they have given up their belief. The letters include a repentance statement, a guarantee to never again practise Falun Gong, and a list of names and addresses of all family members, friends and acquaintances who are practitioners] For those practitioners who firmly upheld their belief, the prison put them into a "strict control team" and forced them to sit on small hard benches for entire days as physical punishment. They set up a special torture device in the form of a stretching bed in small cells where they shackled the four limbs of the practitioner, pulling them tightly in an outstretched position on the bed. An average person would not be able to endure the hours of suffering caused by this kind of torture.
Under the brutal prison guards' instigation, the prisoners brutally beat practitioners every 15 minutes, trying to force practitioners to say the words that they would give up their practice of Falun Gong. In the No. 6 Division, practitioners' teeth were knocked out; six or seven prisoners forced a Dafa practitioner down and squeezed his genitals in order to cause maximum pain; many practitioners were hospitalized because of this torture. Dafa practitioner Lei Ming was sent to the "strict control team" by the No. 4 Division head Song and was forcibly shackled to the stretching bed to be tortured. Prisoners Xu Zhigang and Gao Guoguang assisted in the torture. In the No. 6 Division, policeman Zhou instigated prisoners into beating practitioner Liang Zhenxing to force him to write "the four letters." In the No. 5 Division, practitioner Zheng Weidong was beaten frequently, and was denied his personal freedom; he was even monitored going to the toilet. In the No. 3 Division, the practitioners who refused to write "the four letters," were forced to maintain a sitting position from 5:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. without any break; and they were hardly allowed to wash their faces. Practitioner Zhang Hongwei from Shulan City, was sent to the "strict control team" twice, because of maintaining his belief, and was forced to sit on hard benches all day for a total of four months. [Note: typically this type of prolonged sitting causes severe sores on practitioners buttocks that often become infected and extremely painful] Practitioner Liu Jianzhao from Baishan City was on a hunger strike for 83 days in his refusal to write "the four letters." Yang Guang was put in the "strict control team" for three months; he was confined to a small cell for two months, and was also forced to endure the stretching bed; in the 10th prison area, nobody was allowed to speak to him.
The imprisoned Dafa practitioners are under persecution every day, but their belief in the principles of Falun Dafa is unshakeable. Force cannot change their minds. Hereby, we, the Dafa practitioners kidnapped by Jilin City Prison authorities, sternly warn Jilin City Prison political head Liu Changjiang, jail administration section head Liu Xianzhang, clerk Geng (head criminal), education section head Tan, clerk Li (criminal instigator), and all other guards and prisoners being used to persecute Dafa practitioners: Throughout history, the persecution of righteous beliefs has never succeeded. Those who follow Jiang and Luo's group to persecute Dafa practitioners will be punished by the law and by the heavenly principle of what goes around, comes around!
Hereby, all the Dafa practitioners kidnapped by Jilin City Prison solemnly proclaim: All "the four letters" written under the coercion are declared invalid. We will firmly cultivate Dafa and closely follow the Fa [teachings of Falun Gong].
