Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yu Zaorong has been brutally persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) over the past 12 years. She was arrested, detained, subjected to brainwashing and brutal torture, and was recently sentenced to three years in prison.
On July 15th, 2009, Ms. Yu was was arrested by Yongfeng Police Station officers while informing people about the persecution of Falun Gong in Zhaojiatai, Yongfeng Town. She was held in the Wuhan No. 1 Detention Centre for 15 days.
On August 9th, 2010, Ms. Yu was arrested by 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) director Wan Weilin and Chai Shubin from Caidian District while distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong on Caidian street. She was beaten at the arrest location, then held in the police department for 2 hours.
On March 11th, 2012, she was arrested again by Zhuru Street Police Station officers while distributing Falun Gong leaflets on Zhuru street in Caidian District. She was held in the Wuhan No. 1 Detention Centre. Her family brought clothes to her the next day. Her family was very concerned for her and went to the police station to demand her release. Police station personnel told the family to pick her up after one week. On March 18th, her family went to the detention centre, but authorities refused to release Ms. Yu and asked them to return to the Zhuru Police Station.
At approximately 11 p.m. on March 23rd, an unidentified official delivered an arrest warrant to her home.
Ms. Yu was held in the No. 1 Detention Centre in Wuhan for over 6 months, but was sentenced in secret to three years in prison by Caidian District Court in September 2012. She is currently being held in Wuhan Women's Prison.
Her family was notified that they would be allowed to visit her, but when they arrived at the prison, their visit was refused by prison authorities. Her family is extremely concerned about her condition.
