Older Ms. Miao Shuqing from Fushun, Liaoning Province Detained Again Following Years of Persecution

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Miao Shuqing was arrested on the morning of November 5th, 2012, for speaking with people about Falun Gong and the persecution near Xinhua Street. Officers from Hedong Police Station made the arrest.

Officers from the Hedong Police Station broke into the homes of Ms. Miao and her son that same afternoon and ransacked them. The police didn't find Falun Gong informational materials except for an annual calendar. Ms. Miao was taken to the Fushun Detention Centre's No.2 Branch in Nangou that same night. During the entire process, Ms. Miao kept explaining the facts about Falun Gong to the police officers.

Officers from the Hedong Police Station claimed that Ms. Miao was the key figure in the Hedong area. The police had monitored her for a long time. The Fushun Police Department ordered the police station officers to make the arrest. Actually Ms. Miao lives in Beitai, instead of the Hedong Area. It is likely that during the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) 18th Party Congress, the local police wanted meet forced labor or imprisonment sentencing quotas, to coerce and deceive the practitioner's family to extort more money, or perhaps both.

Ms. Miao Shuqing has previously been brutally persecuted for many years by CCP agents. When she was held in Division No.2 at Liaoning Province Women's Prison, division guards once instigated three criminals to pull her hair, kicking and punching her, which caused serious injuries to Ms. Miao's chest and back. She was in pain for more than a month. She also coughed incessantly. Officers of Division One in Fushun Police Department once hammered bamboo sticks under Ms. Miao's fingernails and pierced two of her fingers with toothpicks.
