Ms. Shan Muzhi from Jiujiang Dies in Police Custody

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Shan Muzhi left home around 6 p.m. on February 25th, 2013. Before she left, she asked her husband to heat some water so she could take a bath when she returned. She was reported to the police around 8 p.m. while she was posting leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong near the Jiujiang Technical Secondary School. Both the Liujiatang and Shili police departments sent officers to arrest her. According to an eyewitness, Ms. Shan fell down during the arrest.

Ms. Shan's family called the police department to ask about her the next day. One officer yelled, “Go find her at the Hejiashan Crematorium!” Her family later told local practitioners that Ms. Shan had died from a heart attack. When she died on the way to the hospital, the police decided to take her to a crematorium instead.
