Geneva citizen: “We Are Just Like A Family, The Persecution Has To Be Stopped.”

More than twelve hundred Falun Gong practitioners from forty countries participated in a parade in Geneva on March 17, to appeal against the blatant and enormous violations of the human rights of Falun Gong practitioners in China. They urged human rights organisations to pay more attention to the Chinese regime’s relentless persecution of Falun Gong. The citizens of Geneva, who are well known for their respect of human rights and freedom, expressed their support for this event.

We are just like a family

When asked about her opinion of the Falun Gong parade, an old lady, who stood at the side of the road to watch, could not reply immediately because she seemed to be so moved by the occasion. After she calmed down, she said with emotion, “We are just like a family. Do you understand? They (the Falun Gong practitioners) all are our friends. These practitioners are good people. But, some people are bad. They are doing bad things. What can we do? We know what the problems are, but who can speak for us? Even if this is true, we still can make major achievements step by step.” The old lady said she and the Falun Gong practitioners are just like members of the same family.

The persecution has to be stopped

Another Geneva citizen said he was glad to see the parade. He already knew about the persecution and said he hopes the situation for Falun Gong in China can be improved soon. When he saw photos of persecuted Chinese practitioners displayed in the parade, he commented, “I am concerned about the situation of Falun Gong in China after seeing the materials exhibited in this march. The persecution is inhuman.” He indicated that Falun Gong is beneficial to every individual, every country and the whole of Europe. The torture and murder of Falun Gong practitioners must be stopped.
