Family of Three Broken Apart by the Communist Regime

Mr. Wang Yue, a Falun Gong practitioner from Boli County, Heilongjiang Province, has been missing since October 18th, 2013. His colleagues at the No. 7 Middle School, where he taught, did not see him come to work, and his family did not see him come home.

According to witnesses, the supervisor of the local 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), Zhao Pengfei, visited the school on October 17th. The following day, Mr. Wang disappeared. Those familiar with the situation suspect that Mr. Wang has been arrested by Zhao.

Mr. Wang's wife, Ms. Liu Yumei, has been detained at a brainwashing centre for over 40 days.

Entire Family Persecuted

Around 8 a.m. on August 13th, 2013, Zhao and six police officers arrested Mr. Wang, with the help of officials from his school and the Boli County Education Bureau. This was Mr. Wang's second arrest.

His daughter didn't know what had happened to him. When she finally discovered his whereabouts 17 days later, she called Zhao to inquire about his case. Zhao refused to allow her to speak to her father, who was being held at the Hegang Brainwashing Centre.

When Mr. Wang's daughter began to cry, Zhao threatened her and instructed her to persuade her father to stop practising Falun Gong. He told her that her parents' wages would be suspended if they did not comply. “Your family will have nothing to live on,” he said.

Mr. Wang was released from the brainwashing centre on September 11th, 2013, after being persecuted there for nearly a month.

Before Mr. Wang could see his wife, who is also a Falun Gong practitioner, Zhao hurried to the school where she taught and arrested her. She was taken to the Liulu Brainwashing Center in Qitaihe City.

“I want to arrest all Falun Gong practitioners in our community and have them 'transformed' [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] in our brainwashing centre,” declared Zhao. Gu Songhai, chief of the provincial 610 Office, then personally took charge of the brainwashing centre to put this in action.

It is believed that Mr. Wang's most recent arrest is the result of this decision. Mr. Wang's wife has been detained at the brainwashing centre for over 40 days.
