Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Xiaohui has spent 11 out of the past 15 years in prison. She has been arrested multiple times and taken to forced labour camps twice. She returned home in March 2014 after serving a seven-year prison term.
Long-term Abuse
Ms. Wang went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practise Falun Gong in September 2001. She was arrested by Beijing police and taken to the Fengtai Police Station, where she was brutally tortured.
The police handcuffed Ms. Wang’s arms behind her back and pinned her to the ground with the feet of a stool positioned under her arms. She was shocked with electric batons on her private parts. Officers also stepped on Ms. Wang’s back, and then pulled her cuffed hands upwards forcefully. Blood started to come out of Ms. Wang’s mouth. They also shocked her chest with electric batons, and her toenails fell off after being repeatedly hit with a club.
Ms. Wang was tortured for five hours that day. Two days later, she was returned to her hometown by local 610 Office agents (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and then taken to a forced labour camp for four years.
Ms. Wang was again arrested in March 2007, and sentenced to seven years in a forced labour camp.
