The following is an English translation of the report by Radio Free Asia correspondent Tian-yi (originally in Chinese):
The 59th session of the U.N. Human Rights Commission convened last Monday Security measures inside and outside the venue were very tight due to the war with Iraq. On Thursday, an RFA correspondent interviewed Ms. Zheng Zhihong, who rushed to Geneva from Germany simply because of the persecution of Falun Gong in China. Zheng Zhihong graduated from Zhejiang University in China, and is now one of the leading figures of a German task force dedicated to the rescue of Falun Gong practitioners and their families. She outlined the situation inside and outside the U.N. building during the last two days:
The Global Coalition against Article 23 has urged the United Nations to be concerned about the enactment of Article 23 in Hong Kong at a press conference, and demanded that it considers the basic human rights of every Hong Kong resident. What we are concerned about is not how to modify the provision, rather we completely dont want Article 23."
The mission of Track Impunity Always is to track down those who have abused human rights but have not been charged with their crimes and brought to a just trial. Regarding the press conference, Ms. Zheng Zhihong said: "Before the press conference came to a close, the chairperson of Track Impunity Always mentioned that his association will help track these persecution cases and file a lawsuit."
