Israeli practitioner, Xiong Zhiyuan, and many German practitioners went to Geneva to urgently appeal to the German government and the governments of other countries to help rescue Falun Gong practitioners Xiong Wei and Lin Wenrong, who are being illegally detained in China. During their stay in Geneva, they collected 863 appeal letters and 183 signatures asking the German Government to rescue the two practitioners. They passed them to the German Ambassador of the United Nations, hoping he could represent their voice to the German government. At the same time, they appealed to the Ambassador to personally request the Chinese government during the United Nations Human Right Commission to immediately release Xiong Wei and Lin Wenrong. In his letter to the Ambassador, Xiong Zhiyuan wrote, First, I thank the German Government for its efforts to rescue my sister, Xiong Wei, and Falun Gong practitioner, Lin Wenrong. On presenting these signatures and personal appeal letters, I sincerely wish that you, in the names of myself and of all those kind people who wrote these letters, will express our voice to your government. At the same time, I appeal to you to demand that the Chinese government release my sister, Xiong Wei, and Lin Wenrong unconditionally. I hope that through the efforts of the German government, my sister and Lin Wenrong will soon be free. Hearing the news that Falun Gong practitioners had been released from their detention with the aid of the Canadian government and the Irish government makes me become more and more confident."
