Ms Wang Jin, who is over 70 years old, is a retired factory worker. The police kidnapped her from home in the middle of the night. At the same time, they took her daughter to the No. 2 Detention Centre in Mudanjiang, leaving behind her son-in-law who was sick, and a granddaughter who was still in school. This was the second time Wang Jin has been persecuted. She went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. The people at the "610 Office,"[1] Yi Xiaofeng and Zhu, paid no attention to her. Wang was finally released after five days into the hunger strike when she developed a high fever.
Ms Zhang Hongyi, who is over 70 years old, is retired. She was sent to the terrible brainwashing centre. The reason was that the 16th Congress was underway, and officials were afraid that Dafa practitioners would go to Beijing to appeal.
Ms Wang Lei, a 33 year old practitioner, is employed by Mudanjiang Water Company. She had been persecuted before. She was pregnant when the "610 Office" took her to the brainwashing centre. The misguided Party Secretary at her workplace conspired with the city police, the "610 Office", and her husband's workplace to pressure her. They claimed that she could go home only if she had an abortion, or else she would be detained at the brainwashing centre. Wang and her husband decided that they would keep the baby even if they both lost their jobs. Wang's workplace, however, insisted she have an abortion; they even pressured Wang's parents and uncles. Wang's husband was taken to the city police station and tortured for two days and two nights. Under this intense pressure, Ms. Wang was forced to have an abortion. This is yet more evidence of the crimes of the murderous Jiang regime.
Yue is a female practitioner. She was deceived by the Party Secretary at her workplace and sent to the brainwashing centre. Yue was very healthy after she started practising Falun Gong. Since she could not study or practise Falun Dafa at the brainwashing centre, and under intense pressure she twice suffered symptoms of a heart attack.
Ning Hong is a female practitioner who is over 50 years old. She was illegally sent to a forced labour camp for two years because she was determined in her Falun Dafa practice. At the labour camp, under intense persecution, her abdomen swelled up, and her hair turned white. She was finally released when she was on the brink of death. Once she returned home, she regained her health through practising Dafa, and her hair turned black again. The police, finding out that she had recovered, took her to the brainwashing centre for persecution. At the brainwashing centre, Ning continued to study the teachings of Falun Dafa, practise the exercises, and send forth righteous thoughts [a meditation to purify the environment with upright thoughts]. The "610 Office" and the police fabricated some groundless charges and sent her to the No. 2 Detention Centre in Mudanjiang.
Ning Yan, a female practitioner, was sent to a forced labour camp for insisting on practising Falun Dafa. Two months after her release from the labour camp, she was kidnapped again and brought to the brainwashing centre. Ning refused to cooperate with the authorities at the centre. Yi Xiaofeng, from the "610 Office," violently dragged her off the bed and viciously beat her. Later Yi conspired with the local police and sent her to the No. 2 Detention Centre of Mudanjiang for further persecution.
Mr Zhao Jianguo, is over 50 years old. He was wrongfully sentenced to one year at a forced labour camp for insisting on practising Falun Dafa. He was kidnapped and brought to the brainwashing centre soon after his release from the labour camp. At home, his elderly parents and young children all depend on him. At the brainwashing centre, Zhao demanded his unconditional release and started a hunger strike. The officials did not pay any attention to him until ten days later when his life was in danger. He was finally transferred to a local police station.
Officials involved in the persecution include members of the "610 Office", Yi Xiaofen, Zhu , Li Gaoyang, and Li Changqing (Secretary of the Political and Judiciary Committee).
[1] - The "610 Office" is a bureau specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. It has absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, as well as over the political and judiciary branches.
