Cases of Persecution I Witnessed

On August 19, 1999, I was illegally arrested and held in the Qianmen Detention Centre in Beijing City, where there were over twenty Dafa practitioners who were illegally arrested. There was a 30 something female Beijing practitioner who was not willing to have her family and her company implicated and persecuted with her. She courageously refused to tell the policemen her name and where she lived. Because of that a few hired thugs pulled her out and beat her terribly. Another 20 something practitioner from Zhengzhou City, Henan Province was also pulled out and beaten badly.

In September 1999, 26 year-old Dafa practitioner Lu who came from Heping District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province sat on a chair on the Zhengyi Street, Beijing City reading his book. He was arrested by the policemen and was sent to Shenyang Detention Centre. In the same month, I was illegally arrested and taken to the same Detention Centre. Because we practised the Falun Dafa exercises, the supervisor of Room 4 used an electric baton to torture 19 Dafa practitioners. We were continuously shocked with electric batons for 3 hours until the electric baton battery ran out of voltage. The next day, an over 60 year-old policeman used another torture device -- one end of it was shackled around the waist, and the other end clipped on the back of the hand, forcing our arms to be extended at either side and wave back and forth.

As Dafa practitioner Chen Xiu and another practitioner practised the Falun Dafa exercises, the policemen pulled their arms out of the window of an steel door, using the electric baton to shock their arms continually till mid-night. While Chen Xiu was detained in Zhangshi Labour Camp in Shenyang City, because he insisted on his belief he was forced to stand while his head was pushed against the wall. He was not allowed to sleep for 18 days and nights. He is still illegally detained in the Detention Centre.

In Longshan Forced Labour Camp in Shenyang City, a Dafa practitioner who came from Tieling City was shocked repeatedly on the same parts of the body with an electric baton for a long time. Over ten female practitioners were called to the director office one by one, where 3 vicious policemen used the electric baton to shock the practitioners simultaneously. Furthermore, the police forced the practitioners to crawl under the policemen's legs to humilate them.

Dafa practitioner Tan Xinyu and Tan Kaiyu were illegally detained separately because they went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. Tan Xinyu was first detained in the Danan Detention Centre, Shenyang City. Later he was detained in a brainwashing centre located in Shenyang City's Shenhe District for 4 months. On February 2, 2000, he was sent to the Zhangshi Forced Labour Camp, where he was sentenced to 1-year in prison. Tan Kaiyu was arrested in 1999. As he refused to tell the policemen his name, he was detained in a detention centre in Beijing City for 3 months. Later he was transferred to the Zhangshi Forced Labour Camp. In 2001, both practitioners were arrested together when they were preparing truth-clarifying materials.

The following is information I learned about some portions of various Dafa practitioners' situations in Shenyang City in 2000:

There were over 50 practitioners detained in Longshan Forced Labour Camp in February.
There were over 100 practitioners detained in Longshan Forced Labour Camp in August.
There were over 1000 practitioners detained in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp.
There were 170 practitioners detained in Zhangshi Forced Labour Camp.
