In mid-April, over seventy Falun Dafa practitioners from Jidong County, Heilongjiang Province were illegally arrested because they published their personal persecution stories on the Internet and supported the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin for his crimes of genocide.

According to reports, after Jiang was sued abroad, he secretly organised a series of systematic mass persecution in China while at the same time "working on" the United States through diplomatic means. He ordered China's National Security Department to set up a special task force to deal with the lawsuit.

On May 14, some people from the Security Department of a provincial "610 Office" [The "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political or judicial systems.] said that the "Special Task Force Working on the Jiang Zemin Lawsuit Filed by the Falun Gong Practitioners Living Abroad" has gathered the persecution facts that have been published on the Internet in support the lawsuit in the United States. They have collected information from "over fifty places" in China and continue to do so.

After Jiang was sued, he became even more ferocious and escalated the persecution, which resulted in this new round of arrests. The damage was caused because police uncovered a site producing Falun Gong truth-clarification materials. The police destroyed the material production centre and disconnected access to the Internet for practitioners living in Jixi City. They arrested four practitioners at the site, confiscating all the copiers and computers. Over seventy practitioners had provided stories of the persecution they faced in support of the lawsuit against Jiang to practitioners in the material site. However, the materials weren't destroyed when the police came. As a result, the police arrested all of the seventy-plus practitioners based on a name list that they found at the materials site.

We hope that practitioners living both inside China and abroad can treat this matter righteously.

We hope that our fellow practitioners living abroad can clarify the truth in a timely manner to raise the international community's awareness of the persecution.
