Later, I was sentenced to two years of forced labour, and jailed in the Tianjin City Shuangkou Labour Camp. The moment I arrived in the camp, the police instigated prisoners to beat me up and I was forced to write a "Repentance Statement" against my own conscience. With fellow practitioners' help, I demanded determinedly to withdraw the "Repentance Statement" that was written against my own conscience. The police then escalated the torture by instigating the prisoners to beat me even more severely. Every morning, I had to get up at 5:00 a.m. to do hard labour until 11:00 p.m., sometimes until 12:00 p.m. I am old and slow in doing the hard labour so in order to finish the production quota I was forced to work all night. Since the environmental conditions were very poor, the majority of us developed scabies all over our bodies, and it was impossible for us to even sit down. I felt terrible but was still forced to do the slave labour. [Repentance Statement. In this statement the practitioner is forced to admit remorse for practising Falun Gong, promise to give up Falun Gong, and never again associate with other practitioners or go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong].
Besides the forced labour, the prison police also tried to brainwash us. One day, I erased a Dafa defaming article from the blackboard. Because of this, I was severely punished, and my prison term was prolonged for two more months.
This past February, the labour camp forced each determined Dafa practitioner to sign the document of "severe punishment" and write a guarantee letter to stop practising. The policeman threatened me continually. I argued with reason, refusing to write the document. Team Two, where I was, had just bought eight 150,000-volt electric batons. In a room on the second floor, ten policemen tortured me at the same time. Some of them stepped on my head, some others stepped on my arms and legs. From 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. they kept torturing me until they used up all the electricity in the batons and I was in an indescribable state.
There was one policeman who stepped on my shoulders, using the electric batons to shock my head. Because of the strong electric shock, I was tortured almost to death. When I woke up, they asked two criminal prisoners to watch over me. They prevented me from eating and sleeping. The next day, the police again threatened me: "Are you going to sign it or not? If you are not going to sign it, we will continue to shock you tomorrow!" In this way, I was physically tortured every day.
I remember that on March 9th, two policemen pushed me to the floor, stepping on my head, using the electric batons to shock the two big veins on the back of my neck, shouting: "Are you giving in? Are you writing your signature?" They beat me for over twenty minutes. After they tired from beating me up, they sat down. At that moment, I wanted to sit up from the floor, but could not. My shoulders went numb, and I could hardly move. After the police felt relaxed from their rest, they continued to torture me.
On the day that I was released, the policeman who processed my release asked me to fill out a form. One item was asking whether the police had beaten people or not. And whether the police had shocked people with electricity. The police forced us to fill in "no." They used this method to cover the truth.
