On June 4, 2003 around 7:00 p.m., people from the "610 Office" of Hengshui City, the police department, the local police station, and the security section of Yuanda Corporation surrounded the place that Liu Shujun had rented. To avoid further persecution, Liu tried to climb down along the water pipe of the building from the third floor. In doing so, she fell down to the ground. She was badly injured. Her left knee and left ankle were shattered and broken and the third and fourth lumbar vertebrae were cracked horizontally. She was sent to the Halixun International Peace Hospital of Hengshui City. Yuanda Corporation sent people from their security section to monitor her in the hospital every day. Those who came to visit her had to show their IDs and register their names.
The city "610 Office" and Yuanda Corporation didn't help in medical cost at all. Instead, they often harassed her in the hospital in order to force her to give up her cultivation and belief in Falun Dafa. Li Yibing, the head of Section No.1 of the police branch in Taocheng district, who had been persecuting Dafa practitioners for the past four years, brought four people along with him to the hospital. They all threatened Liu when she still struggled at the edge of death in the hospital. At present, Liu Shujun is not able to move at all. Besides the broken bones, she also suffers the problem of water accumulation in her lungs. Her two younger sisters are taking care of her.
Liu's rental house has been searched. The following are known to have been confiscated: 500 or 600 Yuan of cash, 3,000 Yuan bank saving card, the tapes of Master's lectures, exercises tapes, Dafa music tapes, blank tapes, and three tape players. [Yuan is Chinese currency. The average monthly salary of an urban worker in China is 500 Yuan].
