In July 2000, she took her baby to Beijing to appeal, and returned safely. When she was clarifying the facts of the persecution in a town, she was reported to the police who then forcefully took her away from her home in the middle of the night. They detained her in a police station, handcuffed and hung her on a tree, disregarding that she was still breastfeeding her baby. Her milk wet through her clothes. On the following day, she was sent to the Guanghan Detention Centre and was illegally detained there for 15 days and not permitted to see or breastfeed her child. Her baby was thus suddenly forced to be weaned since it was deprived of his mother's milk.
