UK: People learn the Truth at a London Garden Party (pictures)

On the 28th of September, the East London local group of Amnesty International held their annual Summer Garden Party. Attendees at the party were not limited to members of the organisation, but also local citizens who care about human rights. Practitioners felt that this was a great opportunity to let them know more about the persecution of Falun Gong and the appeal to rescue UK practitioners’ friends and relatives who are illegally imprisoned in China. The organiser of the party invited volunteers to give different performances and people chatted in the relaxed and friendly atmosphere. They signed practitioners’ petition and expressed support after listening to a speech by the brother of Zhu Baolian, who is imprisoned in Beijing for handing out Falun Gong leaflets.

Falun Gong practitioners were invited to take part in the performance. Six practitioners, two of whom were westerners, performed a Chinese fan dance. They wore traditional Chinese costumes and held bright, beautiful fans, which made their performance the most eye-catching and outstanding at the Garden Party. When the dances had finished, a 20-minute exercise demonstration was held, with a simultaneous verbal description of the exercises. Some people in the audience tried to copy the exercise movements and others asked for information on local classes.
