Ms. Li Shuhua was 32 years old. She lived in Yushu City and was a tailor. Her husband, Falun Dafa practitioner Yang Zhanjiu, was unjustly detained in a detention centre by the Yushu City police in August 2002. Her mother, Falun Dafa practitioner Cui Zhanyun, was also illegally detained in the Heizuizi Labour Camp. Only she, her father and her two children remained at home trying to make a living.

On September 4, 2003, Yushu City police arrested Li Shuhua. Shuhua went on a hunger strike to protest the arrest. The police refused to let her family visit her. On October 8th, Shuhua's father went to the police station to get her. Shuhua had died on October 7th; however, the police were still hiding the fact on October 8th. On October 9th, the police notified Shuhua's family. The sudden news of her death caused her father to collapse from grief.

In just 13 days, a healthy person was murdered by Jiang Zemin's regime. People could still see that one side of Shuhua's face was black; the other side was a little collapsed, although the police had tried to cover it with make up. She had also become unimaginably thin.

Now only her elderly father and two young children are left at home.

According to the investigation by the Falun Dafa Information Centre, a male official on duty at the Yushu City Police Political Security Department (ph. 86-43-13630348) seemed to be very nervous when the reporter asked on October 16 about the case of Li Shuhua's death. He said several times, "You, you, you..." and then said, "I cannot answer your question over the phone." He hung up soon afterwards.
