Mr. Bluemel made a statement on behalf of the Association for Threatened People. He firstly criticised Chinas human rights situation. Though peoples freedom of religion and belief are enshrined in Article 36 of the Chinese constitution, the situation in China is exactly the opposite. Tibetan Buddhists, Uigur Muslims and Christians are all being viciously persecuted in China. The Association for Threatened People is most concerned about the escalating persecution of Falun Gong. Mr. Bluemel pointed out that no other group in China is suffering from such persecution. Every week there is a new list of victims that have been brutally tortured in detention centres and labour camps.
Mr. Bluemel continued to say that over the past few years, Germany and other European countries have made efforts to set up international criminal courts in an attempt to surmount the obstacle of State Leadership Immunity. Through this method, serious human rights violations would be noted and controlled. It would become more important to bring human rights abusers in China to justice. Mr. Bluemel proceeded to tell the audience that in April 2002, during Jiangs visit to Germany, the Association for Threatened People submitted a lawsuit against Jiang to the federal court, accusing Jiang of violating Conventions against torture. But at that time, the case did not get very far because Jiang was privileged with Head of State Immunity. Jiang Zemin and others involved in the persecution of Falun Gong are indisputably responsible for the Falun Gong practitioners tortured to death. We believe that the Global Coalition to Bring Jiang to Justice will surely bring them to the court. Jiang Zemin will receive the punishment that he deserves, concluded Mr. Bluemel.
Mrs. Waltraud made a statement on behalf of The International Society for Human Rights. She listed Chinas human rights problems, Jiangs criminal behaviour in abusing the justice and human rights of the Chinese people, and in particular the inhumane persecution of Falun Gong followers. She said It is time for us to do something. We can no longer look on. She called on the German public to help bring this human rights scoundrel to the court of justice.
Mr. Fei Liangyung made a statement on behalf of The Federation for a Democratic China (FD) German Division. He commented that under Jiangs leadership, the political leadership in China was deteriorating; bribery and corruption were increasingly commonplace, the gap between the rich and poor was widening, social security was being threatened and social morality was completely corrupt. Moreover, the poor have been left helpless and have struggled in vain. The poor have no protection. If they get sick, they can do nothing about it, nor can they receive free medical treatment; they can only wait for death.
Mr. Fei continued to say that Falun Gong miraculously helped many people gain physical health. Apart from this, the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance has purified peoples minds and elevated social morality; Falun Dafa has had positive effects on Chinese society. In his speech, Mr. Fei also described the brutal persecution. As an organisation fighting for Chinas democracy, FDC feels deeply sorrowful about this persecution. On behalf of FDC, Mr. Fei called on kindhearted people worldwide to help to put an end to the brutal persecution. We believe Chinas communism is an evil religion and Jiang Zemin is a murderer who persecuted his people. The day to bring the scoundrel to court is approaching, stressed Mr. Fei.
Mr. Yu Lisheng made a statement on behalf of the German Students and Scholars Union. He criticised and doubted Jiang Zemins claim of three representatives, saying that communists could not represent the development of Chinas manufacturing ability, Chinese culture, or the basic interests of the masses. Under Jiangs 14-year leadership, Mr. Yu pointed out, China underwent an age of deteriorating bribery and corruption, in which the public and even the party members lost their confidence in the Communist Party.
Mr. Yu also read aloud a letter from the German Students and Scholars Union to the German President before he visited China in September. In the letter, victims of persecution are mentioned, including the well-known scholar Dr. Yang Jian-li, a renowned democracy activist Dr. Wang Bingzhang, a 22-year-old college student Liu Ti, and an overseas student Chen Gang who could not have his visa extended because of his belief in Falun Gong. In his letter to the German Students and Scholars Union, the German President expressed his concern over Chinas human rights problems, and mentioned that he had criticised Chinas human rights situations in his speech in Nankeen University during his visit to China. In the letter, the President ensured that the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the German Embassy in China had received the list of names of persecuted victims. Apart from this, in February 2003, during a dialogue with the Chinese Government, the German Government had already mentioned the persecuted victims. The President also said in his letter that during his visit to China he had handed the list of names of the persecuted victims to the Chinese Government.
Mr. Wu Wenxin made a statement on behalf of Falun Gong. Mr. Wu introduced the beauty and purity of Falun Dafa and then talked about the brutal persecution of Falun Gong launched due to Jiang Zemin's personal jealousy. Falun Gong practitioners then read aloud the cases of persecution to the nearby Chinese tourists and finally they recited a letter to the Chinese People from Dafa practitioners.
The assembly attracted a large audience and received a lot of feedback. Many German citizens signed their names on a petition in support of the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin; some of them even offered their ideas about how to bring Jiang to justice. Tourists from China also said, Falun Gong should file a lawsuit against Jiang. The public will be happy about this lawsuit. Some of them even took photos of the scene and said that they would show them to their relatives and friends in China. The lingering rain that had plagued Munich for some days disappeared and sunshine appeared. With the exposure of his crimes, human rights scoundrel Jiang Zemin will one day be brought to justice and be brought to the court of morality.
