On August 22, 2003, the Yudang District Court in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province held an unlawful trial at a remote location in Wudang District against twelve Dafa practitioners. The Yudang District Court denied Dafa practitioners the right to have a defence lawyer and adjudicators. They did not notify any of the families with regard to the court date and location. In just one day Yudang District Court sentenced the twelve Dafa practitioners to different prison terms, with the maximum length of 16 years. During the sham trial, the judge did not even allow the twelve Dafa practitioners to defend themselves. Our sources indicate that the Dafa practitioners were able to to protest against the persecution, represented by this unlawful trial, and the trial ended hastily.

The twelve Dafa practitioners appealed their case to the Intermediate Court in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, and will be brought before the court for the second time on November 25, 2003.

On multiple occasions, Guiyang City's "610 Office" has illegally sentenced Dafa practitioners to serve time in forced labour camps. [Note: "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.]

Since spring of 2003, Guiyang's "610 Office" and the staff from the Prosecutor's Office have illegally and repeatedly sentenced Dafa practitioners to serve time at Zhongba Farm, Yangai Farm, Jinhua Farm, Duyun Concrete Plant and many other forced labour institutions.

Dafa practitioners detained in Guiyang Criminal Investigation Brigade, Guiyang First Detention Centre, and Guiyang Second Detention Centre often suffer from brutal torture, some of which include sitting on the "Iron Chair Device" and handcuffed behind the back for an extended time (See [1]), tied to the "Death Board" for an extended time (See Figure 4 in [2]), savage punching and kicking, flogging with a leather belt, hanging in the air by the hands handcuffed behind the back for an extended time (a combination of Figure 8 and 9 in [2]), and forced-feeding of chilli pepper juice (See Figure 3 in [3].) The staff in the aforementioned forced labour institutions also torture practitioners psychologically. The psychological and physical tortures have already caused some practitioners to become physically disabled.
