On December 10, World Human Rights Day, a symbolic public trial of Jiang Zemin was held in front of the Art Museum in downtown Vancouver. Ms. Mary-Woo Sims, former chief commissioner of the British Columbia Human Rights Commission, Sadie Kuehn, a local activist for racial justice, and a Falun Gong practitioner acted as judges.
At 12 noon, judges, witnesses, and lawyers from both sides entered the court and sat down. Then the Vancouver Branch of the Global Coalition to Bring Jiang to Justice started the symbolic public trial of Jiang Zemin. Witnesses stepped forward one after another to narrate their suffering, and the sufferings of their family members and friends during the last four years of Jiang's brutal persecution of Falun Gong. The righteous voices of justice were heard loud and clear in downtown Vancouver. Passers-by stopped to watch, ask for Falun Gong information and look at posters about Falun Gong.

Many passers-by condemned Jiang's persecution of Falun Gong and encouraged the Canadian government to step forward to stop the persecution and demand that the Chinese government respect human rights. One tourist from Britain said that he saw a similar symbolic trial of Jiang in Britain. He believed that such trials were meaningful, and that they could help local residents to learn about the persecution and reach a common understanding.
