On November 24, 2003, the Graduate Student Union (GSU) of the University of Toronto discussed and passed the following motions:
The GSU condemns the persecution of Falun Gong in China, and urges Chinese government to release all Falun Gong practitioners who have been detained, tortured, raped, and persecuted because of their beliefs.
The GSU sends a letter to the Prime Minister of Canada, urging him to speak up.
The GSU urges Toronto City Council to protect the right of residents to appeal peacefully in front of the Chinese Consulate.
The GSU represents all the 11000 graduate students from 70 departments in the University of Toronto. It has 140 representatives.
