The letter stated that ”We are writing again to appeal for your help for the Falun Gong practitioners, who are being so cruelly and severely persecuted by the Jiang Zemin regime in China, in the hope that the British government can urge the Jiang Zemin regime to stop the persecution”.
The letter also said that the persecution of Falun Gong is state terrorism: “This most blatant form of state terrorism has so far resulted in the deaths in custody of 310 practitioners, and these are only the ones whose names we know. There are many more hundreds whose names we do not know, and many thousands more have been illegally imprisoned or sent to labour camps without trial. Therefore we call upon the UK government, on behalf of the British people, to deal with the terrorism, and to condemn it outright.
The occasion of the Human Rights Dialogue with China from 19-21 November in London, would be an excellent time to present a convincing case to urge the Chinese government to stop the persecution of Falun Gong”.
Mr Tony Blair answered the letter and said:
“Thank you for your recent letter, the contents of which will be carefully noted”.
Mr Tony Blair also wrote “ Your letter has also been passed to Foreign and Commonwealth Office which has particular responsibility for the matter you raise so that they are also aware of your views”.
More and more people are supporting Falun Gong. More and more governments are supporting Falun Gong.
