Female Middle School Teacher Confirmed to Have Died of Torture Two Years Ago

The Falun Dafa Information Center reported on February 18 that a middle school teacher from Boli County was tortured to death on August 23, 2001.

Ms Liu Xin, was a forty year old teacher of Dasizhan Town Middle School in Boli County, Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province. On November 22, 1999, Liu went to the Boli County Police Department to advise police not to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. She was arrested by the political security section chief at that time, Sun Chengyi. Later she was jailed in the county detention centre for 45 days. She wasn't released until the police extorted 4,000 yuan from her. [the average monthly income of a Chinese worker is about 500 yuan.]

Since Liu kept practising Falun Gong after her release, police from Dasizhan Town Police Station arrested her on February 21, 2000 and sent her to the county detention centre again. During detention, Liu was tortured both mentally and physically. As a result, she developed oedema all over her body. Seeing that she was near death, the political security section of the Boli County Police Department callously extorted several thousand yuan from her family and sent her home. Not long after she returned home, Liu passed away on August 23, 2001.

Clearwisdom.net reported calling the middle school at 86-464-8431164 and a male staff member confirmed Liu Xin's death. He said Liu was detained several months for practising Falun Gong and had died several years ago.
