A 77-Year-Old Man From Tianjin Is Imprisoned For Being A Steadfast Practitioner

Mr. Wang Shouke is 77 years old and from Tianjin City. After practising Falun Gong, he was healed of brain atrophy. On March 4, 2004, Mr. Wang was arrested and imprisoned in the Tianjin City Prison simply because he firmly insisted on practising Falun Gong.

Before he began Falun Gong, Mr. Wang suffered from brain atrophy and could not take care of himself. He had been to many doctors and spent more than ten thousand yuan (1) for medicine and treatments. His wife helped him learn to practise Falun Gong. Not long after he started the practice, Mr. Wang was healed of his illnesses. However, the police abducted him in May of 2003 and tried to force him into giving up his belief in the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance," by brutally torturing him. One police officer even wrapped metal wire around his neck and almost suffocated him. Mr. Wang's blood pressure went up to 240 because of the torture and the shocks received from an electric baton, leaving him in a state of dizziness and only semi-conscious.

On March 4, 2004, the police sent this 77-year-old man to the Tianjin City Prison and illegally imprisoned him because of his persistence in practising Falun Gong.

Wu Fengjiang and others used to brutally beat Falun Gong practitioners. For example, he would beat a male practitioner the entire night and the next morning make him stand under the burning sun. Then the next evening, he would force the practitioner to stand outside to be bitten by mosquitoes, while yelling at him, "If you believe in Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, you are not afraid of mosquito bites!"

The above nine people are the major persons responsible for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners in Yuandaxin Township. More than ten people, including those nine listed above, have robbed Dafa practitioners' homes in broad daylight, taking food and everything else of value. These people even took away the propane gas tanks used in practitioners' homes. These officers almost tore down one practitioner's house. A 90-year-old man could not stop weeping, and a practitioner's husband knelt down and begged the officers not to tear down the house. The officers took the opportunity to extort money from them, stopping their destruction only after the family had collected enough money.

Zhao Hongxia was very brutal when beating practitioners. Ms. Lian Keying is a practitioner and also Zhao's sister-in-law. He slapped her face because she said, "Falun Dafa is good." Zhao also slapped practitioner Zhao Mingjun dozens of times and beat her with a wooden stick until she lost consciousness.

Yang is one of the main assistants to Falun Gong persecutor Li Zhenjun. Yang ordered the TV station to broadcast a special programme slandering Falun Gong on January 22, 2004, the day of the Chinese New Year.

The Ninghe County Police Station focused on persecuting Falun Gong and Xu is involved in almost all persecution cases against Falun Gong practitioners. He is ruthless in his attack on Falun Gong.
