On May the 2nd 2004, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao arrived in Germany for a state visit. Falun Gong practitioners once again displayed banners to welcome Wen Jiabao after Wen’s state visit to the United States last December. In the meantime, practitioners requested to bring the perpetrators in the persecution of Falun Gong including Jiang Zemin, Luo Gan, Liu Jing and Zhou Yongkang to justice and to expel human rights criminal Bo Xilai.
According to Radio Free Asia’s report on May the 3rd, Falun Gong practitioners and German human rights organizations simultaneously held rallies and appeals at different places in downtown Berlin on May the 3rd.
The report quoted one of the organizers of these activities, Ms Zheng Zhihong, a scholar in the field of Chinese Law: “Our activities will last two days. Today, because Premier Wen Jiabao will meet with German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, we are now at the plaza close to the Chancellory in Berlin. Today’s activity will start from 2 pm and end at 9:30 pm.”
Ms. Zheng introduced, “Tomorrow we will hold one-day appeal near the Ardelong Hotel where Wen Jiabao stays. The appeal will begin at 8 am and will last until 10 pm. In the evening we will hold a candlelight vigil. We will also go to the Chinese Embassy to appeal.”
According to reports from Minghui Net, Falun Gong practitioners expressed that we welcome Wen Jiabao, hoping he can learn about the real situation of the persecution encountered by Falun Gong practitioners in China. We called upon him to consider from the point of view regarding the country’s future and cardinal principles of national interests to immediately stop this suppression against the numerous kind Falun Gong practitioners and to bring the chief perpetrator Jiang and his followers to justice. Over the past five years, all activities held by Falun Gong practitioners are to oppose this persecution and to expose the lies and slanderous propaganda that maintain the oppression, as well as to call upon all kind people throughout the world to learn about the real story. This also includes the Chinese governmental officials at different levels who do not support this suppression. In fact, they are victims of this persecution as well.
