On May the 27th 2004, Falun Gong practitioners in Helsinki appealed at the Chinese embassy to support the legal action taken in the USA against the former President of the People’s Republic of China, Jiang Zemin. Jiang is the main responsible person in the persecution of Falun Gong and he is charged with torture, genocide and crimes against humanity. He established the notorious “6-10” office and he is directly responsible for persecuting millions of Falun Gong practitioners in China.

Jiang Zemin was served with a lawsuit in October 2002 while he was visiting the United States and the lawsuit has now proceeded to the U.S. Federal Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago where the oral arguments will be heard from the plaintiffs’ lawyer. Jiang Zemin has faced lawsuits also in Taiwan, Germany, Belgium and Spain.

This lawsuit has a significant meaning in the legal community and among the world’s people. The persecution that Jiang Zemin personally launched is targeted at people who strive to become better people by following the principles of Truth, Compassion and Forbearance. This persecution thus has an impact on people’s morality worldwide. By clarifying the facts about the persecution, Falun Gong practitioners have touched people’s hearts and awakened their sense of justice. More and more people are condemning Jiang Zemin for his crimes against humanity.
