Ms. Zhu Xia, a 32-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner from Sichuan Province, was severely persecuted. After facts about her persecution were exposed, other Dafa practitioners tried many different methods to rescue her. As a result, she was released and returned home to the Guangrong Community in Chengdu City on April 2, 2004. However, after suffering nearly one and a half years of illegal forced labour and 10 months of cruel and repeated torment and torture, Ms. Deng was so seriously devastated both mentally and physically that she suffered a mental collapse.
One night at the beginning of April 2001, Zhu Xia was detained by police and was taken to the police station after she was seen tearing down posters slandering Falun Gong. She was temporarily released since she was a nursing mother. When her child reached one year of age, Ms. Zhu was arrested again. He Yuanfu, a staff member with the "610 office" (1) of Guangrong Community, prepared the paperwork to send her to a forced labour camp. Ms. Zhu was later transferred to Nanmusi Women's Forced Labour Camp in Zizhong County, where she was illegally detained for one year and six months.
Since May 2002, the criminal inmates in Nanmusi Women's Forced Labour Camp brutally tortured Ms. Zhu in different ways to force her to give up her belief in Falun Dafa. A malicious police officer named Zhang Xiaofang instructed drug users to stuff her mouth full of dirty rags, then drag her along the rough, gritty floor, scraping her back, hips, and legs. Zhang Xiaofang also told drug users to place a long bench on the ground with bricks on top, and force Zhu Xia to sit on the bricks; they then placed bricks on Zhu Xia's legs and made someone sit on these bricks, rocking back and forth. Meanwhile, they had stuffed her mouth so tightly that her pitiful screams could not be heard.
Officer Zhang Xiaofang grabbed Ms. Zhu's hair and smashed her head against the wall. After Zhang got tired, other criminals took her place. While beating her, Zhang sneered, "I will smash your head till you pass out or go mad." Other common torments perpetrated on Ms. Zhu included forbidding her to use the toilet, to shower or do any kind of washing, including her clothing; forbidding her to replace feminine hygiene products during her menstrual cycle; instigating others to humiliate her; exposing her to the summer heat and to the winter chill; only allowing her to sleep for 5 hours a day or sometimes allowing no sleep at all; forcing her to stand against a wall, sit in military postures, and forbidding her to even blink her eyes.
On October 27, 2004, Ms. Zhu's time in the labour camp was up. However, instead of releasing her, the staff of the "610 Offices" in Chengdu City continued to detain her by moving her around from place to place, such as the Pengzhou City brainwashing class, the Pi County Brainwashing Class, and the Pinyin County Brainwashing Class.
In the brainwashing classes, Zhu Xia was subjected to more inhuman treatment both mentally and physically. According to a verified source, due to all the torments she had suffered, such as lack of sleep for long periods of time, Zhu Xia had reached her limit. She slowly fell into a state of mental collapse. In September 2003, when she was detained at the Pengzhou City brainwashing class, Zhu Xia had already lost touch with reality and was speaking incoherently.
However, He Yuanfu of the "610 Office" refused to release her and continued to persecute her through brainwashing. As a result, her mental state was aggravated to such a degree that she became incontinent, would sporadically cry or laugh, hit the doors and windows day and night, and would tear her quilt cover into pieces while she slept. On April 2, 2004, Ms. Zhu was released and sent home, where her condition persisted.
Zhu Xia's father had suffered the same fate during the Cultural Revolution and Ms. Zhu's son is only four years old now. Her 70-year-old mother now must care for two family members who are mentally incapacitated, as well as a young child. Under such pressures and financial burdens, she is already exhausted and finds it hard to cope.
Therefore, we strongly request that the relevant offices make up for this injustice immediately with the unconditional release of Zhu Xia's husband, Wang Shilin (who is also a Dafa practitioner and is presently detained at the Xinhua Forced Labour Camp, Mianyang County, Sichuan Province), so he may help take care of his family.
Laws relating to human rights have been written into the Chinese Constitution; therefore, the rights of Ms. Zhu's family are supposed to be protected. Meanwhile, we hope that He Yuanfu at the Guangrong Community "610 Office" can clearly recognize Jiang Zemin's dreadful plan of controlling people (including He Yuanfu himself) into persecuting compassionate Falun Dafa practitioners. We also hope that he can rediscover his conscience and thoroughly rectify his misdeeds.
We hope the following departments can help Zhu Xia's husband, Wang Shilin, to be unconditionally released and help solve her family's difficulties. Our Dafa practitioners understand quite clearly that the true villain in the persecution of Dafa and Dafa practitioners is Jiang Zemin. We appreciate the help of all just and kind-hearted individuals.
